Get afloat over Spring Bank from £90 per person

Spring Bank is seen by many to be the start of the summer boating season, with it's milder temperatures and the signs of renewal in the hire fleets, pubs and restaurants. If you're considering a holiday afloat over the break, you need to make a decision sooner rather than later. Having just surveyed what's still available, it's seems Spring Bank 2025 is going to be close to a sell out when it comes around. Already, the larger 9 to 12 berth boats are all but taken, and availability for 6 to 8 berth cruisers has narrowed considerably. There are still good deals around but choice is diminishing. Below are a few examples of what’s available, along with prices for different boat sizes and durations. Have a look and see what catches your eye! You can check general availability using the public holiday search tool further down the email.

Norfolk Broads Towns and Villages - Wroxham

Wroxham Bridge

Often referred to as "The Capital of the Broads", Wroxham lies between Horning and Coltishall on the river Bure. The river separates Wroxham on one side from Hoveton on the other bank though, to all intents and purposes, they are one entity. The river here is spanned by Wroxham Bridge which due to its low arch requires careful passage through, probably with the assistance of the bridge pilot - the pick-up and drop-off points for which are shown on the map. Wroxham is a large village - almost a town. The centre is dominated by Roys collection of stores, including a large supermarket, clothing, gifts, toys, and even a garden centre. The river is the focal point with cafes, bars, and restaurants all offering a view of passing boats on this busy stretch of the Bure. Moorings are available on both sides of the bridge and at any of the boatyards off the main river.

Local Attractions: Bure Valley Narrow Gauge Railway travels from Wroxham to Aylsham pulled by miniature steam engines. Wroxham Miniature Worlds is an Indoor model railway exhibition located close to Wroxham train station. Bewilderwood Children's Adventure Park is a short taxi ride away as are The Wroxham Barns which hosts craft demos, a junior farm, mini-golf, a funfair & shopping.

Eating and Drinking: The Wroxham Hotel and the Kings Head Public House are located either side of the bridge with moorings. Kens Traditional Fish & Chip Restaurant, McDonald's, Yim Siam Thai Restaurant, Indian Spoon, and many other small cafes and takeaways can be found in the village centre.

Other Services: Doctors Surgery - Pharmacy in Roys store. Barclays Bank, Newsagents, Wroxham Taxis (01603 782925) Wroxham Angling (Station Road).

TIP: If moorings on the river are full travel down one of the dykes to the boatyards of either Royalls (now owned by Barnes Brinkcraft) or Summercraft as indicated on the map. These are usually quieter being off the main river.
