Easter from £72 per person
Spring Bank from £106 per person
Welcome to our first newsletter of 2025! We’re here to keep you up-to-date with all the exciting goings-on in Broadland, plus share some great discounts, deals, and booking trends. Reservations for 2025 have been open for a while now, and there’s still lots of availability, with one exception—weekends that fall on public holidays, which tend to get a bit more booked up. The boating season officially begins the weekend of February 8th, just in time for the February Half Term. So, if you’re itching for a Broads getaway, you’re in luck! You can check what's available for this, or any other start date, using the blue enquiry form below.
To make it easier to find the perfect break, I’ve also set up an availability tool for the Easter, Early May, and Spring Bank holidays, which you’ll find further down the email. Plus, we’ve included a few examples below, of what’s available for Easter and Spring Bank to get you thinking about your next holiday afloat.

Easter, Early May & Spring Bank Holiday Availability
There are three "early" season public holidays to take advantage of. Easter in particular, is now selling well for Good Friday to Easter Monday breaks. Select a public holiday, how many people in your party and for how many nights you want to be away to list what's still available by date.

Boats for larger parties are now scarce
Richardsons decommissioned over 30 hire cruiser classes that were attractive to larger parties three years ago. As such there are now just 15 classes across the Broads capable of accommodating parties of 9 or more people.
If you're wanting to get the family together on a boating holiday, or are planning a stag or hen do, please consider booking sooner rather than later, as demand is likely to outstrip availability once again this summer. For a full list of which cruisers accommodate 9 or more people, please click the button.

You can now check availability for any date across the boating season (usually between mid February and the end of October) for this year.
We have craft suitable for party sizes from 2 to groups of 12 people, in all sorts of shapes and sizes, at prices to suit most pockets.
Click the blue enquiry form to see what's still available to book.

Norfolk Broads Towns and Villages - Beccles
|
Beccles is a market town to be found around 6 miles from the junction of the River Waveney with Oulton Dyke (which leads on to Oulton Broad for location purposes) and is actually in the county of Suffolk. Moorings are available either just before the road bridge or within the Yacht Station which is nearer the town centre, though an overnight fee is payable here. A 10 to 15-minute walk will take you into the town centre with a myriad of shops, banks, restaurants, and bars.
Local Attractions. If your craft is unable to pass under the old Beccles Bridge, take the Big Dog Ferry which runs up to the quiet village of Geldeston to the Locks Inn, a quaint establishment still it by candlelight. The journey takes around 45 minutes and begins near the Lido. The Lido is a heated outdoor swimming pool adjacent to the Waveney River. It is a 10-minute walk from the Yacht Station. Besides the pool, there are terraced areas for sunbathing. The pool opens mid April and is heated to 28c. The Splash Bar Café offers hot and cold meals, snacks, ice cream, and cakes, together with hot and cold drinks. St Michaels Church, around 5 minutes from the Yacht Station is interesting as the bell tower was built away from the main building. This was due to its weight which was thought at the time could result in the building collapsing into the Waveney. Walk the Waveney riverside beyond the old bridge which acts as a choker to river traffic so leaving the reach unspoiled and with an abundance of wildlife.
Eating and Drinking. The nearest public house to the Yacht Station is the Bear and Bells, a large establishment with a separate restaurant. The Kings Head is a Wetherspoons outlet serving an extensive menu situated on the market square. The Waveney House Hotel is situated on the riverside with a fine restaurant. There are other bars, cafes, and takeaways within th town centre, an easy walk from the moorings.
Other services. Beccles has its own market on a Friday until mid-afternoon. There is a large Tesco in Beccles, on Caxton Road though it is a bit of a trek back with your shopping. All major banks are represented in the town centre. There is a pharmacy at the Tesco store The Yacht Station has water, showers, toilets, and refuse disposal facilities. get a great view by mooring outside the Wherry Inn, which faces out onto the racing circuit.
