Get afloat over Easter from £71 per person

It's just a few weeks to the Easter break. Have you made plans for Good Friday and Easter Monday? It's the first real peak period of the new season. The boatyards have updated, repaired, and rejuvenated their cruisers over the winter, and holidaymakers at this end of the season have the benefit of seeing everything looking sparkling and pristine. The pubs and restaurants will be pulling out the stops to get you to visit them too. So I've put together some 3, 4, and 7-night break suggestions starting at times to make the most of your holiday allowance. Below are a few examples of what’s available, along with prices for different boat sizes and durations. Have a look and see what catches your eye! You can check general availability using the public holiday search tool further down the email.

Norfolk Broads Towns and Villages - Bramerton

Bramerton

Bramerton Woods End is located on a bend in the River Yare, just three miles from Norwich, around a one-hour’s cruise from both Brundall and Norwich and is a very picturesque stopping-off point. Free moorings are available at the green which borders the river and is popular with families who can enjoy the open spaces which are scarce in other areas of the Norfolk Broads. Moorings are also available a little further away outside the Waters Edge public house, though these are limited and for patrons of the pub. The journey into the village from here is worthwhile if you like countryside walks.

Things to do: Bramerton is positioned on a bend of the River Yare and as such is a good vantage point for just watching the river traffic. Alternatively, the villages of Surlingham and Rockland St Mary are both within a 30-minute walk and afford the opportunity to visit these Broads villages if you have not had the time to stop-off enroute.

Eating and Drinking:The Waters Edge is a front-facing establishment directly on the banks of the River Yare. It has recently undergone refurbishment and is regarded as a high-end restaurant. There is a large and extensive menu to suit all tastes. Outside the pub is a statue of Billy Bluelight (William Cullum), who in the 1920s–30s used to challenge boat trippers to a race along the river bank. He is famed for his claim... "My name is Billy Bluelight, my age is 45, I hope to get to Carrow Bridge before the boat arrives."

Other services: There are now no shops in the village. The nearest village store is in the nearby village of Rockland St. Mary.

TIP: We have found that television reception is poor around the Waters Edge public house so if this is important to you, we recommend you moor at the green.
