Norfolk Broads Towns and Villages - Waveney River Centre Map

River Waveney River Waveney
Just beyond its junction with Oulton Dyke (leading to Oulton Broad) on the River Waveney is the Waveney River Centre. Moorings are available on the riverside. Expect to pay £14 for an overnight stay. This fee includes the use of the showers and toilets on the site. Short-stay moorings are also available without charge.

Things to do: The site has a swimming pool and spa which is open to visitors on payment of a small entrance fee. A childrens adventure playground is free to use. The centre operates a ferry to the other bank of the Waveney which is the edge of the Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve. From here there is a circular walk or a 45-minute journey that will take you to Oulton Broad. More information HERE

Eating and Drinking:
The centre has a large public house/club room, The Waveney Inn, which serves not only the river craft but also the on-site holiday chalets and camping and caravanning fraternity. As you would expect, the food menu caters to all tastes with breakfasts, baguettes, and sandwiches together with main meals and desserts.

Other Services: Their is a supermarket and gift shop on-site together with a laundry.

TIP: The best toilets and showers anywhere on the Norfolk Broads are to be found here though you can only make use of them if you have paid the overnight mooring fees as you will need a code to enter which allows access to the shower block.
